2010 Bluetooth VCIM
I recently installed a new Bluetooth VCIM in my 07 GMT900 with Navigation and XM.
The VCIM was out of a 2010 Camaro with 35 miles on it and its not allowing Bluetooth set up but it does acknowledge some Voice Recognition commands.
Say "Onstar" and it offers Onstar help menu items
Say "Bluetooth" and it says it doesnt recognize the words.
Are there different commands for a 2010 Bluetooth VCIM?
Would the Onstar not work because the vehicle was never setup with Onstar from dealership?

I dont think anything other then the OnStar Bluetooth VCIM is involved in anything Bluetooth so I dont beleive there is anything to program.
Can any GM Tech advise please?
Theres lots of guys on these forums who have just plugged in a new VCIM and it works immediately.

apples and oranges my friend
the camaro is a totally different animal compared to your truck. Totally different wiring, radio(which controls the audio), and the data system is night and day between the two.
Also, you CANNOT just plug in a VCIM and expect it to work.
MAYBE, if it went from the exact same vehicle, with the same build it would probably work, but Onstar would have the wrong VIN, vehicle coulr, customer info etc etc etc.
The VCIM needs to be setup as per the vehicle build, and the onstar technical assistance team needs to properly configure the system before if can be used.

You guys were right.....sold the 2010 Camaro VCIM to a guy with a 2010 Camaro and it works fine for him.
Bought a new non-programmed VCIM from 09 GMT900 and it works fine in my 07 truck.
Thanks guys
