07 avalanche 5.3 Oil pressure drop

Default 07 avalanche 5.3 Oil pressure drop

So recently rebuilt the entire engine
yes i changed the oil pump and sensor and all the bearings,camshaft,crankshaft.
on cold crank it stays at 40-45
when engine worm up on smooth drive like 40mph stays 20-25 and more i fast the higher psi go up highest 40
and when it come i stop at idle like traffic it drop to 0-5
and oil pressure light comes on and says turn engine
off.. i did changed the oil already to clean up inside motor. what else i need to check? Please help i dont want to ruin my new engine

With the correct new bearing clearances, most new or properly rebuilt engines should be well past 40 PSI at 40-55 MPH.usually 50-60PSI. Did you mic the bearngs and cam/crankshaft ? Did you use a good brand of bearings, not the cheap stuff?

Might want to check out the oil pressure sending unit then and/or having it checked with a mechanical oil pruesure gauge Is the vehicle running okay besides that.?

I have an 07 Yukon with the 5.3 engine. I have removed the oil pressure sending unit now 3 times. Mine has a small screen under the oil pressure unit that gets clogged up with gunk. If you just remove the sensor BUT do not remove that small screen most likely the problem will return almost immediately. It is fairly hard to get to that part to remove and reinstall.
