Default 07 avalanche no power arcs when jump attempt

I have 07 avalanche LTZ 4×4 5.3 LITER truck has been sitting for about a week since I drove it last. It has a brand new battery but NO POWER no lights, no dinging, nothing. When I attempt to jump start battery it creates strong arc. So did not continue to try to jump as I didn't want to catch anything on fire or cause more issues. I swapped battery to see if it was the battery itself and it did the same thing. What would cause this?

When you changed the battery I assumed it worked fine? How long ago was battery change, how often do you drive the vehicle?

Battery is less than a year old. Normally I drive it everyday but it needs some front suspension repairs and I'm waiting on my parts to arrive so I've been driving it only when absolutely necessary and the last time I drove it was about a week ago and it's been parked in my driveway since I had no issues the last time I drove it. I had an extra battery here already and so my husband tried to swap the battery just to see if it was the battery and when placing the other fully charged battery I still had no power whatsoever and it's so created an arc when cables were placed to attempt to jump it.

Test the 1st battery to see if it's still charged - if it's ok then need to start looking at fuses and wiring. Car parked outside or in garage? Any rodent problems at home??

Are there any particular fuses or wires I should start with?

Could this be the ignition switch? Would that cause zero power and create an arc when attempting to jump start? Or would it definitely be a wiring or electrical issue?
