Default 2002 Avalanche Drivers Armrest

Does anyone know where you can purchase a new Drivers Side ARM REST for a 2002 Avalanche. My husbands truck is in EXCELLENT condition with the exception of the Drivers Armrest. It has cracked and I'm looking to surprise him with a new one. I'm having a hard time finding a place to purchase/order a new armrest. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!! Thanks

You can go to you local chevy (or GM) dealer. If they do not stock it, they can order it for you. You will need to have the VIN # handy so they can get the correct color. You can find the VIN when you look through the windshield on the driver's side...it is also on the side of the driver door.

You dont need the armrest, you need the armrest COVER!

The bad news is that you will more than likely have to order the entire seat cover for the drivers seat to get it. I am going to assume that it is leather seating, as they have a tendency to crack at the armrest and its kinda rough on the ole elbow.

These seats are part leather and part vinyl. The hard wear areas like the boulsters are vinyl. The arm rest is vinyl also. If you want to save some $ call your local trim repair shop and have them fix the vinyl. If you look at it when there done you might be able to tell but it will not be obvious. Some of these guys travel from dealer to dealer so they can come to you.

If you can get just the armrest cover you can put it on yourself, its not that hard. Run the back of the seat tilted forward toward the steering wheel. There is a plastic track at the bottom of the seat back that can be undone, allowing you to reach up inside the seat. Look up where the armrest is and you will see a retintion clip on the armrest shaft. Use some long needle nose pliers to pull that clip off and the arm rest can be slid out of the seat. On the bottom side of the armrest you will see how to unhook the armrest cover and slide it off the arm.

Actually, the armrest for the seatis available by itself - pricey though. The armrest on the door is also available as a seperate piece - not as pricey.
