Z71 transmission not pulling while in drive gears. It is a 2005 z71. I have the transmission completely rebuilt 2 years ago. It has been working and running perfectly since then. I have checked fluid it is full and smells good. Transmission has never slipped or made any noise. After backing it out of garage slowly and down driveway and putting it in drive on gravel road in front of home after running 15 miles an hour I gave it a little throttle and I heard something not loud but a noise. After that it will not go forward and drive or second barely moves forward in low. And will not go in reverse and move either. Does anyone have any idea that may help me before I have to have it towed an hour away and my four-wheel drive be down during winter snow. Any help would be more than appreciated.

 

sounds like the transmission crapped the bed. Transmissions should be replaced not rebuilt.

 

Well that's a real nice positive comment, with zero helpfulness. This transmission was running letter perfect, I do not think anything serious has happened to it but that's my opinion not being a transmission specialist.
