Default 7 pin trailer braker outlet not working properly

I have an 07 Avalanche, recently purchased a trailer, right signal light on the trailer not working. I used a wire tester and found out the one pin in my 7 pin receiver isn't working properly on the truck. The pin for the left signal light registers 12volts on the tester, the pin for the right signal light only registers about a volt. Are there any suggestions as to what I need to do to fix it? would a new 7 pin outlet fix the problem?

One quick check you can do is open up the wiring loom going into the outlet, find the wire that matches that pin and ***** through the insulation. If you have voltage there than its the outlet.

Can you tell if it's a factory installed trailer plug? If not, odds are there is a poor connection where they tapped into the vehicle harness.
