Default avalance heater core plugged

Hello, I cant seem to get the heater core unplugged so guess im gonna change it.. anyone here done it? any tips,tricks or shortcuts..

I unclogged mine by forcing compressed air into one of the ports. This forced the gunk out of there.

I've tried back flushing with water, air even jetting it sit overnight with flush in it.. But it will heat for 5min the the coolant stops flowing thru it.. One heater hose is hot, the other cold..
