Default Avalanche/4l60e installing transmission after rebuild

My first time posting so please bear with me. I have had a lot of issues with the 4l60e as I have 3 vehicles with it. I just finished rebuilding a 4l60e and have it bolted up only have to get rear driveshaft in to see how I done with my first transmission rebuild /second round. First round I made the mistake of not seating the TC all the way and had to rebuild the pump. If all goes well I'll be rebuilding another 4l60e for my Silverado. Any tips would be awesome. Seems like the small things are what I always overlook. Thanks guys and gals. I will get back after I pour in some fluid and see what she does.

automotive trans rebuilders association makes rebuild manuals that are very users friendly. try autorepairmanuals.biz. I have ordered from this site when I rebuilt a 4l80E and the manual was much nicer to follow compared to the factory service manual.
another good site.

Is a trans rebuild something a DIY shadetree guy like me could accomplish? I would have assumed some special tools and training needed.

the books are pretty good. they go thru everything you need to watch out for. they list the special tools needed. I only needed a few to do my 80. I only needed $300 in parts to do the entire job.

I don't rebuild trans at work... I do my own but I don't consider myself a trans rebuilder. I look at it this way, if I f up I will just swap it out with a factory rebuild and all i'm out is time. As long as you have the space to set everything out in order...take some pics as you go...its doable.
