4L60E trans- how much can it take?

Does anyone know what the maximum horsepower and torque the 4L60E will take in stock configuration? What modifications can be made to handle bigger HP and toruqe output or should I just get a new stronger trans?

I found alot info on the 4L60E at the impalassforum.com when I rebuilt the tranny for my old caprice that had a 4L60E
