I would like to take the bowtie off of the tailgate and replace it with a billet one that I purchased. Are there two posts that go into the metal and what is the best way to take that off without damage to the tailgate. I know dental floss will work for the ends but when I hit the posts I am out of ideas.

Use fishing line and saw like crazy. It'll cut through the posts.
