2000 Chevy Avalanche. The dome lights work as they should if you are in reverse. Open the door, lights come on. Close the door, lights go off. But, if you're in Park, they don't function. I don't plan on leaving the truck very often when in Reverse.

Has anybody else ever had this problem? Any fixes?

 

The problem would be the truck thinks its in park right? But there are no other signs of this. When you put it in park, the doors unlock.
