Looking for places to get a frame from a 09' - 13' Avalance / Suburban. The short version is that I know 09-13 are the same for both models, but are there other years that will work (doubtful as they alter mounting holes and such)? Also, where might I procure a frame (gmpartscenter.net, boneyard, private sales)? I am about to throw my Avy LTZ on blocks and tear off the body to repair rot and repaint a new color, maybe orange. I figure it would be a good time to swap in a 6.0 and replace the frame as it will also be rotting soon. I was thinking of grabbing a southern vehicle, but I was warned that the undercoatings are different. I am not sure that matters if I am doing a frame-up rebuild, but I am sure someone more experienced than I would know.

Go shopping for what you want in the southeast or southwest, you will be money way ahead!

Undercoating?
Factory would not bother with different regional formulas, they all get the same treatment.
