I have an 02 Avalanche. About 3 months ago it died on me and i had to have it towed home. My husband replaced the fuel filter and it has run great ever since; until the other day. It was did the same exact thing again. it doesn't seem to be getting fuel past the filter. My husband replaced the filter again yet this time it still doesn't want to start.He also found what looks like shards of wood or metal in the fuel line. What is going on with my truck?[]

 

It sounds like contamination.
Any chance that someone could have thrown a handfull of crud in your gas tank?
If so it looks like it may have wiped out your fuel pump now or the pump may have just came apart.
