Heater Control Unit
Hello, I have a 2004 Avalanche 2500, and the heater (climate) control unit is going bad. Part # is GM 19370209. Cross referenced this with the local dealership using the VIN. Problem is that this part seems to be non existent. Discontinued by GM, and can't find any dealership or parts supplier that has any available. I have checked various dealers across the country.
If I look up the heater control on sites like 1A Auto for a 2004 Avalanche 2500, it provides a part, but does not cross reference to the 19370209. I spoke with a person at 1A Auto, and they indicated that there were several different parts used in the 2004 Avalanche, and that if the BOM based on the VIN says 19370209, then I would need to stay with that part, and the one they have available would not work.
So, I am seeking guidance/help on this:
1. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a 19370209, or a replacement that cross references to this one?
2. If I can't find one, does anyone know a place that might be able to reman/refurb my current one?
3. If I look up the part by year, make, model, part on some of the parts sites (like 1A Auto), it shows parts that they guarantee will fit a 2004 Avalanche 2500. But as I mentioned, the 1A auto person cautioned against that. However, has anyone ever tried this, and is there a way to really confirm whether it would work or not? (I hope that makes sense).
Kind regards,
J. Main
