Default 89 Corsica died & won't start

I have an '89 Corsica. I had a can of old gas in the garage and decided to get rid of it by dumping it in the tank. The car was running at the time. The Corsica died while I had the gas cap off and was dumping the gas in the tank. Now it turns over but won't start. Any ideas?

Actually, what I'm wondering is if taking the fuel cap off while the car was running and relieving the fuel pressure could be the cause of it dying & not restarting? Obviously, it could be the old gas I dumped in, although I thought there was enough fresh gas in the tank to not have an adverse effect.
