Default 93 Beretta, engine turns over but belt won't move

Hi,

I have a 93 Beretta, been in storage for 5 years without being started. I managed to get it to turn over today, but the belt won't move. It looks like the water pump or the air condition in the train maybe ceased.

I don't know much about cars, does this sound like it could be a possibility? Or is this bad news?

Thanks

Steve

Remove the belt, then try cranking the engine. Do not run it like this as you can damage it, just shut it if after it turns on if it does...
I would not let it stay on longer than 10-20 seconds t an given time...

When a car sits that long, things tend to get stuck, I suggest care.

Change the oil too.

With the belt removed, you can then turn each pulley by hand to see which one is seized up.

If you find which one is seized, I can try and help from there if needed...

Please let me know.

If an engine has been sitting a long period of time, it is best to remove the spark plugs and spray some light engine oil into all cylinders.

^ THIS!

There is a lot to do to bring an engine back to life.
I suggest you google things for a while.

We have an older engine sitting, 10 years almost, hopefully soon we can get it going. But we never have the time.
(I understand that is a long time, but its been done before and we put it away a certain way every time so it does not go bad in a sense)...
