Question 93 Chevy Lumina freeze plug help!

I have a 93 Chevy Lumina, i bought it used in 2009 and it already had well over 100k miles on it. My husband and i have taken very good care of her, my daughter grew up in her. But for the past 3 years she's sat I the yard being worked on. We finally got everything finished except the freeze plug. Whomever owned her before us, used JB Weld, alot, and the freeze plug won't come out. Plus we can't figure out how to get around the firewall to get to it. She has a sideways motor, which makes things a bit more difficult. And we can't get her jacked up high enough. Can anyone help please, my car is ready to be back on the.

not sure about the 93 but on some of the FWD cars you can unbolt the top motor mounts (dog bones) and rock the engine forward, you can even use a ratchet strap to hold the engine forward. not sur ehow much that can help you but it might be worth a try. i doubt they used JB on the freeze plugs but i guess it happen

Thank you, I'll pass that info along to my husband. From what I was told, there was a leak navy moons ago and the previous owners used JB or Stop Leak, idk which one, i assumed JB, but now that i think about it, it could've been stop leak. Anyway they used it to stop the leak in the block, head or wherever, i don't remember. My husband said that it kind of fused the freeze plugs in and thats one reason it's so hard to get them out.

I've not had issues with freeze plugs. If it is one on the firewall side, as posted take out the two mount bolts, I'd suggest a 2x4 between the engine ,and firewall pull the engine toward the front of the car. Then a ratchet strape to hold it forward till you get the freeze plug replaced. I've done this before on my 96.

Why do you want to remove the freeze plugs?
