Angry Clock Light Stays On / Drains Battery

Oh, I wonder how many 1995 Corsica or other GM owners have experienced the problem of the Clock in the Radio staying on and running down the battery. I have not found any other forums on this subject on the internet - - that actually list or describe remedying the problem. So, let's start one and see of we can fix the problem. Can anyone share there experience of actually solving the problem?

Wink 1995 Corsica Clock light stays on, runs down battery

Got great news! Found a brand new Convenience Center module (also known as the multi-function alarm module) part # 22592956 ( It is a BLUE plastic module up under the dash and just left of the steering column) and installed it.

I thought this was likely where the problem came from because this module is in the circuit / line with the Radio Clock and on the FUSE #11 circuit. When I pulled the #11 fuse, the clock light went out. However, the Convenience Center module was NOT the problem. The radio part #16182701 was the problem.

The problem is / was actually found to be within the RADIO itself!!! Yes, the radio itself has a power supply in it that latches on and will not unlatch to shut off power to the clock / display and it was running down the battery.

I found two sources which fixes these radios: CARSTEREOHELP.COM at 407-830-0777 ask for Bob, and M&R Electronics in Saginaw MI at 1-800-343-1382.

I hope this helps many.
