Hi there,

'92 Lumina, 3.1, runs great, for miles and hours! Until I shut her off, and need to start right up again... she'll crank and crank and crank with no ignition. So I'll give her 10 minutes to "cool off" or rest or whatever, and then she'll start right up no problem. Fluids are all set, ignition checks out.

Stuck choke? Sluggish fuel filter/pump? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Fuel injectors flooding the engine?

I've mentioned here about that... and have been scolded for it...

Push the gas pedal in all the way --- and try to start it... it should catch if there's a leakage issue or it's flooded...


well - simple test in your situation... scold me if it doesn't help...

at any rate - other issues - I've dealt with a 92 lumina 3.1l before back in 1999 - dry rotted vacuum hoses... so check for dry rot on anything rubber in the engine bay...those plastic vacuum lines run under the intake if I remember.... my issue was with the rubber lines running down driver side to front of car or something like that..
