hello thank you in advance. I have a 1999 jimmy. it started to hang up in the transfer case. I really need to fix it. as my daily driver goes in the shop soon for deer damage. my wife and I both have a commute to work. my question is is there a fix or do I need a new tcase? it is making a grinding noise like metal on metal brakes make. and while going forward or backwards it starts to hang up almost locking up. what are my options n what could be the cause?

 

If your positive its the t-case go to car-part.com and search for availability and cost. They're not that hard to change. especially if you know the front shaft snaps into the T-case so your not trying to drop the shaft along with the t-case.
