Default Throttle problem

About 2 weeks ago, I was driving and set the cruise control on my 2000 Blazer with the 4.3 V6 in it and when I went to kick the cruise off, the idle stayed high. And it still is high and it makes braking difficult so I have to throw it in neutral to come to a stop and when I do the RPMs go to about 1300 and when moving putting it in neutral takes the RPM to about 2100. I disconnected the battery overnight and it didn’t resolve the issue!! Any info would be appreciated

Disconnect the cable, start it, what's the rpm at that point? Might be a mechanical issue

I don’t know if it’s a sensor issue or mechanical and I haven’t gone to my mechanic yet to plug in diagnostic

That's why I suggested unhook the cable, you will need to determine which one. If it has a TPS, that should not cause your issue. This started after using the cruise. With the cable unhook, make sure it can move and not binding. Probably is electrical. If the TPS is out of position from what the ecm is requesting, that however could do it.
