Vibrations - 2017 Bolt
I have a vibration / shimmying problem. 2017 Bolt. Feels like the wheels are bouncing and the steering wheel shakes. It is a little scary. Let me add some notes/symptoms/clues.
First - it never seems to occur when the car is cold. For the first 30+ minutes of driving, no issues at any speed.
Second It only happens when warm/hot Bolt is going 40+ miles an hour. when I slow down, shimmy goes away.
Third, when I get home in the garage, I pick up a "burning rubber" type smell.
We just got new tires, and my mechanic replaced the sway bar mounts (Chevy recommendation) and he tells me the suspension is good.
So - is there any kind of belt in the power train that might expand and begin slipping when hot and under load?
Is there a good way to get this question to Chevrolet engineers?

It's some kind of conspiracy. I had to replace all brake components and it cost me about $1000. It seems crazy that some brake issues could cause a lot of shaking, although I suppose it's possible. I don’t know what they diagnosed as a specific problem and what exactly they replace, but my vibrations have not stopped. One good guy from wall work service told me it's probably best to check the tire pressure of all your tires with a tire gauge (not from the tpms sensors).
