To BNRacing,I appreciate your offer & probably take you up on your offer to call, Friday. You mentioned that the cars aren't "speed density tuned" .Can You expound on that ? I.E. what is speed density ? As far fuel trims, can those be changed with one of the power programmers on the market ? I have some other ques.,but I'll ask them when I speak with you. Thanks very much for the insight. westmassk
Fuel trims CAN be changed with a power programmer, but not by the end user. They would have been changed by the manufacturer for their specific tune. These trims will still not be accurate since you have an after market intake and they generally use stock trims on the power programmers. If you were to go the route of using us or finding someone locally with HP Tuners, both would be able to correct the trims for your specific application. The power programmers are a good start for someone with stock parts looking for more power, but once you start going with a custom setup its better to get a custom tune for your specific setup.
That CarCraft link was excellant. It brought me up to speed from when I was able to easily modify & tune cars myself [ back in the late sixties & seventies].BNRacing,I'm sold on your logic. It did however, say that MAF systems [ the category I assume my 2010 V-6 Camaro fits in ],are self-compensating for most reasonable upgrades.I gather your saying that you can further improve on that.Is it still okay to call you,Friday, late A.M. ? thanks, westmassk
