Default 89 camaro

I am having a problem with my 89 Camaro , just the other day I went and had new muffler pipe and muffler put on . Before that it was running great now it is flooding and won't stay running with black smoke comming out, sometimes I can get it to run but it runs rough . There is plenty of gas comming out of the injectors. I went and bought a code scanner to see if it could help but it just shows code 12 so it must not be problem with the sensors. Could this be a problem with the gas since they started putting ethynol in the gas? I'm wondering out there experiancing the same thing? Please helpThanks ,
Stacy

Its possible theres a timing issue. You might want to time the ignition first, and go from there.

Default Just a thought

First what engine do you have? The black smoke is unburnt fuel. Probably not related to your exhaust repair. Sounds like you need to do a tune up, IE: Spark Plugs, Wires, Distributor Cap & Rotor. Would also be good idea to change the fuel filter. A new oxygen sensor could be helpful on fuel economy.
I hope the info is helpful. SteelWill
