I have a 72 luv with the v6 from a 81 Camaro. Recently I have been losing voltage when driving and I figured the alternator was just going out so I replaced it. The problem persists and I’m not sure what’s going on. I saw something that might suggest that there is supposed to be a cable that plugs into the alternator and goes into the cabin and that send a signal of some kind back and forth to tell the alternator to charge the battery or not. I’m not sure exactly but if anyone might have any suggestions or any photos of what it’s supposed to look like set up correctly, that would be great and any advice or help is greatly appreciated. sorry for any formatting problems, first time posting.
