Default Crank but no start

<table id="post5840205" class="tborder" border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="6" width="100%" align="center"><tbody><tr vAlign="top"><td style="border-right-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: solid;" id="td_post_5840205" class="alt1">This my first engine/tranny swap. I bought an 87 iroc as a donor car to that had a hot wired fuel pump. I have put the 305 tbi from my 92 RS into the iroc which was a 350 tpi. I have everything hooked up but when I turn the key on I do not here the fuel pump prime. The relays click and it will crank but not start. I have checked all of the fuses and they are all good. There was a hot wire connected to the battery in the 87 but of course I'm using the tbi wiring harness. If I'm just missing the hot wire, where does it need to go?

I also have no oil pressure when the car is trying to crank. It has an aftermarket alarm system on it as well that had cause the car not to crank at one point. I currently have the 92 tbi ecm in the car. when trying to crank there is no fuel coming out of the fuel injectors. Hope this isn't confusing.

Would it be easier to undo the hot wired fuel pump and allow it to use the factory wiring. I'm pretty sure i would have to modify the 92 TBI harness to allow for the hot wired fuel pump.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

i would check the coil a little more in depth as follows, assuming it has fuel pressure
Ignition Coil Inspection

Some of the older Chevy V-8's had the circuit going to the in tank fuel pump , going through the oil pressure switch .

The electrics / electronics by-passed the oil switch for a few seconds either when you switched the key on or when you started cranking the engine . Can not remember which .

When the switch sensed oil pressure , it would take over and maintain power to the in tank fuel pump . If this switch did not work , the engine might start , but then would die .

Also , if , at any time , you lost oil pressure , the engine would die . Probably a good thing .

If the engine is not starting , period , try priming it & see if it wil start .

God bless
