Do you think a dealership would let a 16 year old test drive one of the new camaros?

I'm 16, almost 17, and my Dad has offered to buy me a vehicle. He's willing to buy me a base model 2010 V6 Camaro. However, I would like to test drive one first. Think they'd let me?

that's a tough call. generally, a car like that, i believe because of insurance you have to be either 18 or 21. best advice is to call local chevy dealer and ask them. explain situation to them, and see what they say. your dad might be able to take car for a day or two to test drive, maybe you could sneak in a drive then. BUT, be careful. something happens to car, your dad will be liable.

When I was that age me and a friend of mine would do it all the time, I thought it was stupid on the dealer's part. I think they would let you as long as your father was with you. They know you can't buy it on your own.

A dealership's insurance will not cover a driver under the age of 18. Not for a test drive, not for a loaner. I ran into that a few years ago when we needed some warranty work done on a work van and they gave us a loaner truck.

No, i dont think any dealership is stupid enough to do that. not saying your stupid or anything. try goiong to a place that would rent the camaro out or ask around who has one.

Yes they will do it as long as you have a salesman go with you, I didnt have my Dad w/ me and they just handed me the keys and off we went, pretty cool cause the salesman drove it off the lot and we stopped swapped seats and he was like "Get on it" and we where doing over 100 and it was fun as hell. He did say not to tell anyone at the dealership.
