Dear chevy,
I flew from LA to Vegas last saturday to buy the new 2SS camaro!!! I have wanted this car from the first second i saw it over 2 years ago!!!! I finally got it and started my drive back to LA. On my way home the monitor tire system light came on. I immediately called on star and they said they saw no problems. I made it home fine and drove the car for 2 days. On the third day I was on my way to work when I heard dinging and looked down to see the BRAKE light, ABS, Check engine, and traction light on. Then as I gently step on the brake my car drops into 1st gear as I'm going 65mph. I hobbled it to one dealer who said they could not help me due to how new my car was. They told me to drive over to another dealer about 7 miles away. The entire way there my car would not come out of first gear. Once I made it to the Van Nuys Rydell the service guy told me to leave it and they would get me a rent a car. Keep in mind I am 270lbs. Well they try to put me in a Cobalt. So I spend 50,000$ and 2 days later the car breaks down and they put me in an old Cobalt??? Anyways, they got me an SUV so i could go back to work. About 3 hours later they call me and tell me my car is fixed. So I go and pick up my car with the gas light on. I fill it up and jump back on the freeway and within 5 min it does the exact same thing. Lights flashing, drops into 1st gear. So now its 9:30pm and the dealers service dep. is closed. I am able to barely make it home. The next morning I call a tow truck through on star and the guy was able to help me get the car started. He then follow me to the Valencia Power Chevy. Throughout the day nobody is able to give me details, and nobody knows what is going on. At the end of the day the tech. calls me and said "I was able to get the lights off but without them coming back on I cant figure out what is wrong". He had driven the car and it seemed fine. & nbsp;So once again at 9:30 at night I pick it up and as soon as I get on the freeway the service tire system light comes on so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the others come on. The car is in my garage until Chevy is open on monday.
That is my story of the new Camaro. I want you to know I am not at all mad. Just very dissapointed in service. I understand that it's a new car and may have problems. I just want to feel like somebody cares!!! I LOVE my new car and don't want to give it back or trade it. I just want it to be fixed and I especially want to know that it's in good hands. Please let me know if anybody can help. The tech at chevy said he has trouble getting through to your service to help him. PLEASE HAVE SOMEBODY GET BACK TO ME AND JUST LET ME KNOW WHAT WE CAN DO!!!!! Thank you everybody at CHEVY for making such a beautiful car and please help me so I can enjoy mine!!!!!
Thank you,

Is there a help number you can call for service? There may be a service dealer that has training on the new technology.
Good luck!

You have a faulty PCM (Powertrain Control Module). It likely got dropped or something before it was put in the car on the assembly line.
I don't know how the L.A. area GM techs are trained, but it sounds like they are a bunch of numb nuts. And they wonder why people switch to imports...

I can not be of much help on this one. I will not have any info for a year or 2. I probably will not see many in my shop for at least 5 years. If I had to guess the car has a bad ground somewhere. You need to get the phone number for corporate GM and raise hell. Have them tell you which dealer in your area to take it to. I had to do this with my first Tahoe when it was under warranty. I was not nice about it as I kept getting the run around from the dealer. You can take it back to the dealer one more time if they still do not fix it you can get them to buy it back under the lemon law and get a different one.
I second the motion on the bad PCM. Its the only thing that will explain all the problems happening at once. It may be a new car, but does not mean its impossible to diagnose. its just a car. yea the system may be new, but its still the same basics as the rest. A bad PCM will tweak out and start throwing lights and bells and whistles till you stop.
Now, it can also be a bad ground at the PCM or somewhere else. it may be fine sitting there and then while driving on the highway, the vibration from the perfectly flat road in LA can allow it to wiggle and make a bad contact.
