Default 1991 Caprice 5.0L A/C work

My late father's Caprice had been parked for 10-15 years . It is obvious from the oily dirt around the A/C compressor , that the freon ( and much of the oil ) has leaked out .

If I just vacuum it down , check for leaks , recharge with freon and oil , what are the chances the seal will be OK , once it gets wetted / lubricated with oil ?

To replace the seal , I am pretty sure I can remove the clutch parts . What tooling is need to remove the old seal and replace with a new seal ?

I am guessing I need to pour the old mineral oil out of it & install PAG oil in it and a new accumulator ? I think there are several types of PAG oil ? How do I find out which type to use ? How much ?

I have read to put 1/2 the required amount in the compresses and 1/2 in the accumulator ?

I will vacuum it down , hard , maybe over night & then let it set for a couple of hours & check for loss of vacuum .

God bless

I have found a seal kit at O'Reilly Auto Parts . Very helpful .

I found out this is a R4 compressor .

God bless
