Hi, Hoping someone can help me figure out what to do. My car shut off while driving to school. I had it towed home and it started up again but now wont start at all. The engine starts but wont turn over. Had the Fuel Pump replaced, car still wont start. Replacing the fuel filter today... not sure if i should look into anything else. Any suggestions?

 

Fuel pump relay ,optispark and check for codes..What engine do you have?

 

Thanks for your post. I have a 5.7 liter engine... LT1. I replaced the fuel sending unit, fuel pump, distributor (optispark), fuel filter, ignition coil, and the battery. Car was running fine for a couple days, then it stalled. It restarts but it sometimes backfires (misfires). The low oil light comes on but there is oil... i did an oil change and changed the oil filter...still doing the same thing. Check engine light comes on when it stalls...takes a while to restart... then i keep driving. I have no idea what it could be. It stalls, misfires and says it needs oil....????????

I forgot to mention that because it is a 95 it needs an OBD1 adapter to connect to the computer...so im on a hunt for a place that has it...

 

Have you thought about your O2 sensor, wires still hooked up to both of them???

 

Turns out i have to replace the fuel pump relay and the timing is off... so now i have to do the timing. : /

 

i change the cap and rotor and plug and wire,.now my car want start.do you have ant tips.
