Default 93 Chevy Caprice LS Tire Sizes

Hi everyone,

I have a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice LS. Currently, it has Kuhmo Solus TA11 215/75 R15 100 tires on it.
These seemed to handle well in various weather from rain to snow. I was really impressed with them. However, they are worn out and I need to buy new tires.
I was shopping around and found the Hankook Optimo (H724) P215/75 R14 tires.

I checked out tire sizes for 1993 caprices and the Hankook tires said they would fit. Wal-Marts website however said they will not fit because they are too small. If it makes a difference my Chevy has the original wheels and wheel covers on it.

Really I have four questions: First, I really liked the Kuhmo Solus 215/75 R15 tires, should I just buy a new set of those?
Second, I like the Hankook Optimo P215/75 R14's because they are also all-weather and whitewall.
Third, should I forget both of these options and buy the tire sizes that Chevy calls for which is 225/70 R15?
Fourth, my speedometer is slow by around 12 mph. Is this because I am not driving with the tire size Chevy calls for?
Finally, if you are wondering why I want the whitewall, I just think it is a cool look that adds a nice finishing touch.

Any input on my tire size options and what is best for performance is greatly appreciated. Thanks, everyone!

I'm in the same boat for my grandma's caprice. LTZ Classic calls for 235 70 r15. Original wheels are on it but the size is a biotch to find at a reasonable price. We don't need anything fancy because she only drives around our small town but her current tires are a disaster. They're 235 60 r15 and Walmart refused to put anything but the spec tires on it.

If you have the space I don't see why you can't use whatever size you want but you're also looking at different rim size so be careful so you don't choose a tire that won't fit the rim. 215, 225 fine to switch up and the 75 but you need to stay the same as your wheel size unless you're changing from factory to a different size. White walls would look super clean ! I'd love for her to find some as well. Good luck.
