AC canister vacuum?
Fat chance I’ll get an answer but here goes: I have a 1970 Caprice with a 350 and air conditioning. It has a vacuum canister to run the dashboard selector for heat or cool. Wondering if anyone knows the minimum vacuum needed to run this control as I am modifying the engine which will drop the vacuum to 15 inches. Will I need a vacuum assisted pump?

The idea is that the vacuum reservior will be drawn down
to "peak vacuum" (checkball feed) so that you have useful
vacuum reserve for next braking.
If you -never- get above 15"Hg vaccum then a pump might
be handy. But cams only depress low-RPM vacuum and
normal driving may be enough to keep the reservoir
"charged".
