Bad shifting in and out of Overdrive
Hmm, so here is a question... Transmission, or a poor exhaust set up? I have a 1989 Chevy Caprice with a 305 V8. All original engine and trans, 57,000. th200r4 trans and a punched out cat with cherrybomb for the exhaust...
Now here is the issue. I just pulled the car back out of storage and started driving it again to do the demise of my winter car, a 1987 Delta 88 getting totaled.
Now, the issue is, and its only sometimes, not everytime i drive. The car, when shifting in an out of overdrive it has issues. Issues such as poor throttle response. I'll put my foot down on the gas cruising say around 30-35 if I am about to travel up a hill, and at first putting my foot down won't even respond to the added pressure on the peddle. Then when it does it'll lurch forward quickly.. Now the issue is, do you think it's a transmission issue? Or my exhaust system not working properly. I am running a punched out cat, and cherry bomb just for another couple weeks until I get my duals. any input? I was thinking the trans is maybe going bad, or the punched out cat is throwing of the EGR Valve and it's not allowing the car to have a good mixture, the car does run rich.

Figured out the problem. Its apparently common in the Th200r4, a bad TCC solenoid. Hopefully this fix the problem and stops my Tourqe Converter from locking up after cruising in 4th for more than a couple mins.
