Default Engine swap in 1991 Chevy Caprice

Hi, I was thinking bout doing a engine swap in my caprice. I currently have a LO5 350 engine and i was going to swap it out for the LT1 engine do any one know if the engine will fit or not, or if i could do a small amount of modification to get it to fit.

I was wondering the same thing. Did you ever find a LT1 and if so how much did it run you?

They're are a few small differences in the frames between a tbi car and a LT car. One: clearance notch for the a/c comp. on LT cars that are not on tbi cars. Two: Trans. crossmember is different because of the duel exhaust on the LT cars. LT cross member doesn't bolt in because of the frame rails don't match up on the drivers side, will need to extent the frame on that side.

Electrical/pcm systems are completely different.

I'd skip the LT swap and go with a LS swap, engines are easier to find, they make more power, and the cost difference isn't that much if any. 5.3, and 6.0 are everywhere now.
