Default Ignition, 350 cid

Hi. A friend of mine have a -79 caprice, and I have changed some parts for him.
I changed the distributor cap and rotor, plugs and wires.

I also changed the valvecovers and crburator. I took out the egr also.

But now it dont work the way it did before... I have a feeling its the ignition. I didnt notice the way the plug wires was before, cause he had a workshop book, so I thought I found what I needed in that...

But when I put the wires like the book says, it didnt start... I had to remove all of the wires, one step clockwise. But still its not right. It starts and drives, but I feel a lock of power.

Where should I put the vacuum advance line? Wich end of the carb? left or right (standing fom the front)

The vin is IN69L1161029 (I believe. the 1 and I was the same...)

Hope you`ll help me fast. He need the car tomorow night.
