Default MAP vacuum Sensor Hose ConnectsFits Where

My car is a 1989 Avanti. The engine is a standard Chevy 305ci as fitted at factory (same as Caprice). It has a Rochester 4ME carburettor. The vacuum sensor hose from the MAP is missing and we cant determine where it connects to, the carburettor or the manifold ? Could you please advise precisely where the hose should connect. Many thanks

Locate the MAP sensor along the firewall or to the passenger side of the engine compartment.

Step 2

Check the vacuum hose attached to the sensor and make sure it is in good condition and free of obstructions. Make sure there are no loose wires and the sensor’s electrical connector is in good shape.

If it helps,
MAP =Manifold Absolute Pressure
The hose must connect to a direct source of manifold pressure, any port that provides manifold vacuum.

I know ported vacuum to a carburetor but not seen a carburetor with a map sensor.
