Introducing myself. Have no idea if I'm in the right spot or not to do this. Having been on other forums though I'm sure someone will make it their task to correct me.
I live in western IL and recently acquired a 1966 Chevy Caprice with a rebuilt 396 with a transmission I'm not sure about. The seller said the PO put it in and of course he didn't have a clue what it was. The 396 badge says Turbo jet but who knows. It has a B&M Quick sliver floor shift which had a high learning curve to operate. But I finally got it down pat with some effort. I don't know how many members go back this deep in years as mine with their cars but probably all can answer any questions I may have. I'm told I'm the 5th owner and along the line others have done some mods of their own which I have no info on so I am just playing it by ear for now trying to learn and figure it all out.So, any and all information anyone here can give will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome from Florida. Sounds like you have a nice car. Post pictures of it.

I would be glad to if I knew how. Is there a posting a picture for dummies thread somewhere? My 71 year old brain doesn't like to deal with complicated click this, go there and enter that just to have it tell you "No Dice"if you know what I mean.
