Hey, I am new to the forum but it seems like there is a lot of knowledge here....so maybe you guys can help? I have an 86 caprice. I recently swapped a 70's 350 into it. While I had the tranny(stock 700r4) out I figured I would throw a shift kit(B&M if it matters) in it.



Now here is my problem... I have no reverse on my transmission and it seems to slip really bad in the forward gears. I called b&m and the service tech said check the pressue regulator valve. I am almost 100% sure I put the valve together correctly and put the snap ring in the groove. Does anyone have any suggestions of stuff to look at before I take the pan off? Fluid is at the correct level. Could the vaseline I used to hold check ***** in place for installation be an issue? By that, I mean could it be holding them and not allowing them to move. Any help would be appreciated..


P.S. The transmission worked in ALL gears prior to removal...
