Captiva 2012. 2.2D 120kW

Car won't start when MAF sensor is connected. When I pull out a plug from the MAF sensor, the car starts but of course the power is limited and the engine check light goes on

I tried to replace the MAF sensor with the new one but it doesn't help

Any advice what could be the problem?

You could replace parts till the cows come home and still not find or correct the problem.

What is required is someone with the knowledge , info and equip to chase down the cause of the problem.

Today's vehicles don't leave much room for tinkering as older models did. They are a little more complicated to troubleshoot.

If there is insufficient power available to components that use vehicle reference voltage , plugging in a good MAF sensor may be the straw that breaks the camel's back by pulling that voltage down and not allowing other components to work as intended.
It could be a simple cure, the trick is to find the cause.

Next week I'll visit a service shop with GM support and I hope we'll find a problem.

 

Me again...

The problem was caused by broken inter-cooler turbo hose pipe. This is the second time I had to change the same part.
