AC/Heat Problem-2015 Captiva
Over the last 2yrs my 2015 Captivas A/C had been glitching off an on. It would blow cold air but very faintly even with the control all the way up. Then it would “kick into gear” and operate like normal for a while. When it started doing this it was 2020 and I wasn’t driving a bunch so it didn’t bother me. The heater worked in the winter, and when I started driving more in Spring 2021 the AC presented the same issues.
fast forward to now and the heater doesn’t work. I turn it all the way hot and all the way up in air flow and it’s just faintly blowing cool air that never feels like it is actually warming. My BIL started taking my control center apart and troubleshooting different things we read online. At one point he was able to adjust the heating manually and it blew out forceful warm air at the floor heater-just can’t get it to do that when adjusting the dial and blow through the vents. He thought it might be the air flow actuator (?) or something like that and so I bought one from auto zone and he replaced it. Unfortunately that didn’t work but he also realized there were 2 of them (1 for each side) so maybe it was the other one?? At this point it had been hours so we abandoned the mission and I took it to a Chevy dealership service center this weekend. Problem is, they can’t figure it out either. I’m at a loss and hoped reaching out here could help find a solution.
so long story short:: I’ve felt cold air and hot air, it’s just not blowing correctly through the vents and the controls aren’t really operating correctly either. Help!
