Captiva grind/vibration under acceleration
Hi I have a 2014 2.2 turbo diesel AWD Captiva
It has a grind / vibration under acceleration / load ..
It's not there when the car is rolling and in gear.
But under acceleration while driving there is a loud grind/vibration. Similar to an exhaust hitting and tyre rubbing. How ever it is neither of those things.
We have changed two engine mounts so far and it has made no difference. We have removed the fan belt and ran it with no belt and it's still there . There doesn't seem to be any excessive play in the crank.
The noise goes away as soon as you back off of the accelerator or go over a bump. And changes some what when you steer hard while driving.
The fact it does it stationary would eliminate wheel bearings.
So I'm kind of stumped
There doesn't appear to be excessive play in the transfer case bearings or any other obvious issues.
There is a bit of play in the rear diff but I'm unsure if that would send a grind / vibration to the front..
Has anyone else experienced this or anything similar?
It only does it under load. Not at idle and not while rolling..... Only when it is under load.
