Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone could please help me with my 2012 Captiva Sport LTZ V6 3.0. The symptoms are:

Car starts strong, after 1 second is shuts off and there are rapid clicks from the RUN/CRNK relay (proven by carefully swapping relays to see if it’s a bad relay - no improvement). Trying again immediately gets no start, just the clicking, after a while it starts on the key then immediately stops again.

The car has 90,000 miles on it. It has a 6month old battery on it which is working well.

This weekend a brand new starter motor and both the positive and negative battery loom wires were replaced (all genuine GE OEM parts) - these had no change to my symptoms.

(About 4 years ago I had all of the dash lights randomly go on, so I replaced the battery, alternator and added additional ground cables - these fixed all the symptoms back then.)

Could anyone please point me to any possible solutions please?

Aside from these issues it’s a great car and we find it practical and great to drive.

If you hadn't done so, check the entire wiring harness from the battery to all its ground points. I had so much trouble, I replaced the entire harness and never had a lick o' trouble ever again...just sayin'.
