Default 1994 2.2L Auto_Vibration at idle in drive

I've got a 1994 Cavalier RS sedan that vibrates pretty bad at idle in drive. Doesn't seem to do it in any other gear or at speed. Any insight is GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Hey Rob,

Sorry to say, but I had this problem and it ended up being my transmission. I had to rebuild it, then it was fine.

Can't say I'm too surprised. The thing just turned over 227,000 miles the other day without any major catastrophies yet. Any checks I could do to determine what will need done?

Thanks again,
Rob

I would just bring it to any local transmission shop and tell them that there is a slight vibration when in drive. They will most likely tell you it needs to be rebuilt. New gears, seals, all that good stuff inside a transmission should fix the problem. But on the other hand a car with that many miles, I dont know if I would bother rebuilding the transmission. It will probly cost 4x the value of the car. Its usually about $1000-$1500.
