Default 1996 Cavalier trany question.

Hey guys I'm looking at buy a '96 Cavalier tomorrow for $500. The guy got a new car and just doesn't want it anymore. Anyway, I called and talked to him today it has 150k but it starts and runs great every time. It's a 2-door Automatic. I've been researching and I see that there was a choice of a 3-speed auto or a 4-speed auto I forgot to ask him which one it has but my question is, which one is better? Does it really have that much of a difference... other than gas mileage? What I'm getting at is which one would you guys reccomend or are they both great tranys? Thanks for any help!

Default RE: 1996 Cavalier trany question.

I own a 97 3 speed and its a great car, never any transmission problems, and i have 139,000 miles. Whichever one it may be, 3 or 4 speed, for $500, its a great deal.
