I don't think anyone will/won't respond based on your gender, but maybe if you ask an actual question about your A/C problems it would be useful? I don't think anyone can answer a question you haven't asked yet. You may or may not get an answer, but I would at least ask the question.

Well I didn't want to get into it unless someone responded and you did thank you ! All my life I've been looked at as different or like something was wrong with me because I took interest in things most girls didn't so I'm just used to being ignored!

But here's a few questions for now...

When replacing the compressor with one from the junkyard should I drain the oil and measure it and add that same amount or add what the manufacturer says?

What about if I replaced the accumulator/drier and it only has been used less than 2 weeks do I have to replace it again?? I mean the car is 24 years old it could die today tomorrow in 5 years I just want cool air for the summer I'm realistic I don't want to dump more money than I have.

And how long should I evacuate it after I make sure theres no leaks? I've heard 15 min 30 min 24 hours?

So are you saying you replaced the accumulator/drier, and the compressor subsequently failed? Was it working after replacing that component, and then failed, or were you just trying cheap parts before going to the compressor?

I ask, because when a compressor fails, it can sometimes fail catastrophically, and parts like the condenser, accumulator and expansion valve may need replacing, as well as flushing all the lines. This is due to contaminants such as metal shavings that can clog up things and damage the NEW compressor if they cycle back through to it.

Anyway, the compressor oil in the system will not just be in the old compressor, but distributed in other places. If you can drain what is in the old one and measure it, that is probably the amount to add with the new compressor, assuming you are replacing only the compressor. I know when you buy a brand new compressor, it usually comes pre-charged with several ounces of the appropriate oil. I guess I am saying you don't want to put in a FULL oil charge unless you are replacing everything...
