No, but I don't use floor mode on my A/C unit when it's hot outside. 40 degrees F is a great reading and so I don't think it's the A/C compressor since it's running nice and cold. Likely some kind of electrical issue of some kind on your Chevy. Perhaps it's the temperature control unit on the dash causing this issue. Does the A/C work when on the dash/floor setting on the control panel or simply just the floor setting? Are you using the recirculate mode?

Yes I am using recirculating mode cold air comes out of all modes except floor mode when in floor mode clutch shuts off and floor air is not cold

Wat happens if you push the AC button when you select the floor air outlets? Also, does the AC light on the AC button illuminate when in floor mode?

Does your HVAC system have a manual or automatic system. Manual is where you set a temperature and the system continuously blows air at a given temperature, Automatic is where the system blows air that can get colder or warmer as needed to maintain the temperature you set it to?

Both my 1998 K-1500 and 2015 Malibu can be set to floor/dash air outlets, as well as recirc. Yours cannot?

You likely have a manual control HVAC system based on your answer.
