2002 2.2 leaks coolant with ac

2002 2.2 leaks coolant with ac
i have a 2002 cav 2.2.
i just bought the car so i have no idea, but ive been driving it all weekend fine, then one day it was really hot out so i put on the ac, and bam i heard the coolant all leak dry to the ground. I refilled it and it seems to be holding now, and turned the ac. I think if i turn the ac on it will drop again, does this make sence, any ideas whats wrong
