Default 2002 cavalier missing when over 45mph

My 2002 cavalier stutters when I go over 40 mph. It can convert to CNG but I have never used that. It has 124,000 miles. Does anyone know what this could be?Thanks so much

Sorry Lisa but that kind of problem really should be looked at by a professional who has a dyno. I've seen some mechanics try to simulate that kind of condition by giving the car gas while holding the brake..and I've seen that trick go bad by busting the trans.
It could be fuel delivery problems, electrical, mechanical, too many things to nail down
on this forum.

Default cavalier missing at 45mph

I turned the key to the on position and the only sound I hear is a click. Is that the fuel pump? Thanks

is the click coming from the gas tank? My 97 Cav will have about a one second whine or groan (whichever you prefer) coming from the tank when the key is turned to the first position. Your Welcome!

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and predict if you're getting up to 40 mph the fuel pump is coming on.

My fuel pressure was 8 lbs instead of the 40's it should have been, and the car would run, just no get up and go. Maybe a suggestion of your own will help this girl and her problem. But then again some just love to criticize others for trying to help. keep going out on that limb!

not a problem, glad to have you back off that limb. So any ideas for the single mom to get her running again? My fuel pump was the only negative problem I have ever had with the Cavalier. had problems at 50 mph then 40 then 30 etc.
