Just a general how expensive is it to replace the unibody? just got word from mechanic that there is extensive rust damage to the frame. The only amount i have seen so far is the crossmember at the rear of the car.

 

In most cases this is called restoration and makes sense only if it is some unique or antique car.

how did this car pass inspection for you to drive it in the first place. Why is it being inspected now?

 

annual inspection due by end of april

 

it hard to comment without seeing the problem or knowing the condition of the rest of the car.


A 2002 cav in badly rusted condition is a $500 car. Get some quotes for the repair and have them look at the rest of the car. If it needs a lot, shop around for another car.
