There's probably a fuel shut-off switch that cuts off the gas on impact. I had an old Ford F-150 that shut off on me after I stalled it hard (I was just learning to drive stick). I'd look for that switch first before doing anything else; I replaced a couple of electronic components thinking that would solve it before realizing it was the switch.

there are no fuel pump impact switches on a cavalier.
If the fuel pump isn't priming for 2 seconds (you should be able to hear it) after key on; check for power and ground to the fuel pump. If thats good, the fuel pump is probably damaged from the impact.
probably a write-off as your into at least 5 grand to fix the damage your describing.
